SCALL’s purpose is to promote the education of and professional development of law librarians. As an organization, we cannot do that in a society that condones violence toward African Americans. Accordingly, the Board of SCALL denounces the unjust treatment of George Floyd, the latest in a sad parade of Americans who have had their lives taken away by the people who are supposed to protect them. We stand with the organizations and communities working against the scourge of racism, bias, brutality, and violence.
